Genre Conversions

A genre is basically a category in which my magazine is placed. A genre conversion is a similarity’s between two items in the same category. When I was researching different genre conversions I noticed that in my magazine genre, school magazines I noticed that some features were the same. The masthead was the same font, sans sheriff. This font is easy to read and looks quite professional. It will also make it suitable for viewers out of the following categories- A, B, C1 and E. Also the magazine covers looked very minimalistic. This gives the impression that the magazine sub-genre is upper class and makes the magazine look fresh and easy to use. It also fits the audience, primary being the students and secondary being the parents and local community.

This will influence my magazine as I will use the same font. This will make the magazine easy to read and understand. It will not make it look boring, but will just look more professional than other fonts. My magazine must look a little minimalistic but still provide all the information. This makes the magazine look classy and posh, which in turn will reflect on the school itself.
